Spotlight on: the OMGreens

We love juice, no matter the kind. Green, carrot, beet, watermelon, even juice with cayenne pepper. Why? You feel amazing after you drink it. It’s the perfect pick me up, and the perfect way to nurture your body from the inside out. However, in an effort to make sure our people (that’s you!) are in the know about what is in our juices and why we are so passionate about each one for different reasons...we thought would start taking it one by one and breaking it down for you, juice by juice. Today, we want to share with you one of our originals and one of many people’s JS go-to...the OMGreens!

Let’s start with the important stuff...what is in it? The OMGreens is a perfect blend of kale, cucumber, celery, apple, romaine, & lemon. I say perfect because it just honest, well, tastes perfect. It’s the beauty of a green juice, filled with tons of veggies + nutrients, but still has a touch of fruit to add slight sweetness and makes it go down smoothly. We’re serious...no bitterness, no “green” taste, nada.

So, let’s walk through this step by step.

Kale: Yes, we went there. Kale. You either love it, or you hate it, but you can’t deny that it’s good for you. What exactly does kale do for you? Well, I could go on forever, but, here are a few things.

  • It has up to 45 different antioxidant flavonoids
  • 1 cup of kale provides more than 6x your recommended daily vitamin K, which is key in regulating your body’s anti-inflammatory process, keeping calcium retained in your bones and key to bone development, + more!
  •  Provides cardiovascular support
  • lowers cholesterol
  • calcium dense, which helps alkalize the body
  • vitamins C, A, E, B, Folic Acid, Iron, Magnesium, Omega 3, Protein

Cucumber: This unique vegetable is light, refreshing, and packed with unique nutrients. Research suggests that cucumber is linked to reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and well as certain type of cancer, + has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.

Celery: Great with hummus, great with peanut butter, great in cold-pressed juice. What we love about the OMGreens is that you get all the health benefits of celery without an overwhelming celery flavor. This green veggie has tons of vitamin K, A, C, folate, and potassium. Additionally, celery is known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties, & especially for inflammation in the digestive system itself.

Apple: AKA the perfect dose of healthy sweetness. Apples are rich in antioxidants, dietary fiber, and important flavonoids. They are known to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes.

Romaine: The most unassuming of them all. You might not of known, but romaine packs a serious nutritional punch & it takes our cold-pressed juice to the next level. These green leaves are filled with vitamin C, fiber, a high beta carotene content, and high folic acid content, which make it a heart-healthy addition to your diet.

Lemon: If you weren’t already a fan of this zesty and delicious fruit (how can you not be?), let us break it down for you: Lemon has a variety of benefits such as: aids in healthy digestion, rich in vitamin C which protects the body against immune deficiency, balances the pH level in the body, high potassium content nourishes the brain and nerve cells…  need we go on?

OMGreens is available at Juice Society in both 17oz or 8oz! We recommend it first thing in the morning or in the late afternoon as a pick me up in lieu of that second cup of coffee! (Pro Tip: it also makes an amazing smoothie base!)
