Austin Summer Guide: Favorite Healthy Brunch Places
The Austin weather might be unbearable at times, but that doesn't stop us from brunchin' on weekend mornings (or early afternoons, we get it.) Here are a few of our local favorites that not only are delicious, but deliver fresh and healthy dishes with a sustainable and locally-sourced consciousness!
Bouldin Creek Cafe
This hipster Austin-favorite features an all-vegetarian and vegan menu, but don't let that stop you! Carnivores love it too. ;)
Try: breakfast taco with tofu scramble, Tokyo fog, spicy pesto plate, any omelet!
Blue Dahlia Bistro
This cozy spot in East Austin brings light, French-inspired dishes to the table that leave you feeling satisfied but not uncomfortably full. Their whole wheat bread is homemade, and they source locally!
Try: salade nicoise, Blue Dahlia brie tartine, frittata du jour, Chickpea Pesto Salad (our personal fav)
Cafe No Se
We just can't get enough of this new spot located in the South Congress Hotel. No Se has a real knack for seasonal produce and you can't taste the difference in their creations. With everything from avo toast to delicious brunch cocktails, you can catch us cozying up in this cafe as often as possible.
Try: Avocado Toast, Red Quinoa Porridge
This Colorado offshoot is new to Austin, but has already taken the brunch scene by storm. Whether you're planning to indulge to help recover from Saturday night or you're looking for something lighter and locally sourced, Snooze will not disappoint
Try: Egg White Frittata, Summer Greens sans bacon (add a poached egg!)
This cute little blue house in Clarksville is one of our favorite places to have Sunday brunch with friends. With delicious baked goods, light meals and a cozy setting, you cannot go wrong at JoHo.
Try: The Josephine Rice Bowl: A super healthy mix of heirloom rice, harissa roasted veggies, poached egg, avocado and arugula.
Like its name suggests, 24 Diner is open at all hours and has breakfast all day! We like this place because it makes comfort food modern with a farm-to-table mentality.
Try: The hash is everything (vegetarian and vegan options available!)
