Spotlight On: Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha, otherwise known as Indian Ginseng, is one of our favorite go-to superfoods! We’ll admit, it’s a bit of a mouthful to pronounce but the list of physical and mental benefits could go on for days. Here are a few of the benefits and our favorite way to use this helpful superfood.

For centuries Ashwagandha has been used in the Ayurvedic medicine to help ease depression and stress and even to help cure degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Ashwagandha has been found to hold powerful antioxidant properties that attach to and destroy free radicals that have been taking a toll on aging and the state of diseases.

    Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic superfood meaning it’s able to adopt its functions to your body’s needs. This plant is able to stimulate your immune system, increasing your energy levels as well as lowering any excessive cortisol production which is the leading cause of stress.
